Thailand ready to exchange experience on human trafficking and irregular migration problems

ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia July 16 (TNA) - Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-o-cha said during his speech at the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) that Thailand is ready to exchange experiences on human trafficking and irregular migration problems. During the last day of the 11th ASEM Summit at Mongolia's Ulaanbaatar, the Thai premier gave his speech on the “Enhancing the three pillars of ASEM”, stressing that the challenge for both Asia and Europe which is also affecting the security, economy, and society of both regions are the problems of irregular migration and human trafficking, where Thailand has had ample experiences in facing both problems. To solve the problem of irregular migration, Thailand had held a meeting on "Irregular Migration in the Indian Ocean", in which many concerned member states had participated and gave extra interests in helping to solve the problem leading to lesser volume of irregular migration. Thailand has also listed human trafficking as a national agenda in order to tackle the problem for concretely. Gen Prayuth then expressed the country's willingness to efficiently tackle both problems, both on the regional and international levels. Afterwards, the premier had also attended the closing ceremony of the 11th ASEM Summit. This year's ASEM, members had signed two documents which were the Chair’s Statement which reflects commitments of ASEM member states on promoting cooperation between Asia and Europe in the areas of mutual interests and Ulaanbaatar Declaration which highlights 20 years of ASEM achievements.
