THIRTEEN PARTIES REGISTERED TO COMPETE FOR BY-ELECTION

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On August 9, General Election Commission of Mongolia (GECM) held its meeting, at which a decision was issued whether to register 14 parties that applied for registration to participate in by-election in the 42nd constituency of parliamentary election. According to the decision, 13 political parties except Civil Will-Green Party were registered for the by-election to be run on October 7, 2018. GECM refused to register Civil Will-Green Party based on 60.5th of Law on Election because the party did not provide its financial report on the party’s campaign for 2016 parliamentary election, which violates 57.3rd of the law.
