Thousands March Against Anti-Islam Film In Karachi

Islamabad, Sept 30, IRNA -- Tens of thousands of activists of AhleSunnat Wal Jamaat on Saturday took out a protest rally in protest of the sacrilegious film in the port city of Karachi. The demonstrators demanded severe punishment to all involved in the blasphemous movie and its removal from the YouTube and Google. The rally started from Numaish Chowrangi and ended at Tibet Center. The rally Tahafuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat (Defense of sanctity of Prophet Mohammad) was led by Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman along with other clerics. The participants of the rally were carrying green flags and holding the placards of Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (pbuh) and denouncing the American film. Members of Sunni Tehreek said Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad had given permission for the rally after talks were held and the rally was assured to be a peaceful one. Earlier, on late yesterday night police had removed the welcome camps of Sunni Tehreek and other organizations from Numaish Chowrangi after the imposition of the ban on public rallies. Strict Security measures were made by the Law Enforcement Agencies to avoid any untoward situation./end
