Tokyo Ward Assemblymen's Liaison Society for Japan-Korea Friendship Meets

Pyongyang, May 16 (KCNA) -- The 16th general meeting of the Tokyo Ward Assemblymen's Liaison Society for the Promotion of Japan-Korea Friendship took place in Tokyo on May 9. Present there were members of the liaison society and Japan-DPRK friendship organizations, officials of the Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters and Nishi Tokyo Headquarters of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and principals of Korean schools in Japan. Speakers noted that the liaison society should work hard for friendship between the two peoples of Japan and the DPRK, such as proactive support for the national education of the Koreans in Japan and strengthening of solidarity with Chongryon. The general meeting reviewed the activities of the liaison society in 2017 and discussed the orientation of its struggle for this year. Then, followed a lecture titled "The Panmunjom declaration and the prospect of situation on the Korean peninsula". At the end of the general meeting a social gathering took place. -0-
