Top German MP Highlights ˈDecisive Phaseˈ Of Iran N-talks

Berlin, May 12, IRNA -- Negotiations on Tehranˈs nuclear program have reached a ˈdecisive phaseˈ as diplomats from Iran and six world powers begin talks on the draft of a final nuclear deal, said the deputy head of the Social Democratic faction, Rolf Muetzenich. Talking to IRNA, Muetzenich said all sides are aware that next weekˈs talks in Vienna will enter a ˈdecisive phaseˈ which could ultimately yield a final accord by the end of the six-month interim accord which expires on July 20. The opposition lawmaker urged all sides to be ready for a compromise towards a lasting nuclear agreement. Muetzenich said while the West aims for a verifiable Iranian nuclear progam which could not be diverted for military purposes, Iran had also the right to have a peaceful civilian nuclear program. He emphasized an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program could help boost Tehranˈs relations with the West, including Germany. Muetzenich who visited Iran last month, said German Chancellor Angela Merkel is well aware that Iran is a ˈjustifiably an important actor in the region with its own security interests.ˈ He reiterated the ˈmost importantˈ point was to restore trust between Iran and the West./end
