Treaty on allied relations with Russia to be implemented in 2017 - South Ossetia’s leader

TSKHINVAL, February 10. /TASS/. The allied relations and integration treaty between South Ossetia and Russia will be fully implemented this year, the republic’s President Leonid Tibilov said in an exclusive interview with TASS. "This year we will say that the treaty is implemented and is in force," Tibilov said. For the final implementation of the document, the sides still need to agree on the material support for South Ossetia’s Interior Ministry. An additional agreement will be drafted and may be signed soon, he added. He also said that an additional agreement has been signed in the framework of the Interior Ministry on establishing a joint coordination center to be headquartered in South Ossetia’s capital Tskhinval. Another agreement on integrating the Armed Forces of South Ossetia and Russia is due to be signed within a month, Tibilov said. "Just these days our agencies closely worked with Russia’s Defense Ministry," he said. "We only have to sign an additional agreement on military agencies." The sides discussed the legal issues concerning the accession of some units of South Ossetia to Russia’s Armed Forces, particularly the 4th military base. "The issues have been solved. This additional agreement is almost ready for signing, we plan to ink it within a month," Tibilov said. The agreement on accession of certain units of South Ossetia’s Defense Ministry to Russia’s Armed Forces is in the framework of the allied relations and integration treaty signed between Russian President Vladimir Putin and South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov on March 18, 2015.
