Trump’s policies harming int’l laws: Deputy FM

Tehran, July 1, IRNA - Iranian First Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi said US President Donald Trump’s unilateral policies have damaged non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and international laws. Sarmadi made the remarks Sunday in a meeting with Venezuela President Nicolás Maduro. During the meeting, he submitted Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s letter to Maduro. He congratulated Maduro for his re-election as Venezuela president. Sarmadi appreciated Venezuela president’s policies against Trump’s aggression and unilateralism. Unilateral and destructive policies adopted by US have even been taken against its allies especially Canada and Europe, he said. He called for increasing joint cooperation between two countries to stand against Trump’s destructive policies. Maduro, for his part, said Venezuela will support Iran against US aggression. Trump adopting a dangerous policy considers himself as leader of the world, he said. Elaborating on US bullying policies against Mexican immigrants and also on other aspects of his destructive policies in Latin America, Maduro said ex-US President Barack Obama, with his hypocricy and Trump with overt hostility have both been after destroying Venezuela and independent countries. 'We have to stand firmly against US domineering policies in OPEC,' he said, adding that Venezuela and Iran should coordinate OPEC and non-OPEC countries' efforts against US. 1378/IRNA
