Trump May Have Withdrawn Remarks on Nuclear Weapons

Washington, Nov. 13 (Jiji Press)--U.S. President-elect Donald Trump posted comments on his Twitter account on Sunday that could be taken to suggest that he may have withdrawn his remarks tolerating some countries possessing nuclear weapons. In the Twitter posting, Trump noted The New York Times reported that he "believes 'more countries should acquire nuclear weapons.'" "How dishonest are they. I never said this!" Trump tweeted. Trump may have started taking a realistic stance and withdrawn his past remarks tolerating Japan and South Korea going nuclear, according to some U.S. media reports. In an interview with The New York Times in March, Trump said that Japan and South Korea could possess nuclear weapons to protect themselves from North Korea. END
