TS.ELBEGDORJ MEETS CHANCELLOR OF GERMANY

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The leader of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj has met with Ms Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) after having addressed the 10th ASEM Summit’s opening session. Ms Merkel asked the President about his country's political and economical affairs and congratulated him on submitting Mongolia’s candidature to host the 11th ASEM Summit in Ulaanbaatar. "Germany will render all-around support on the matter," she promised. The dignitaries also exchanged views on the Mongolia-Germany relations issues. Ms Merkel confirmed that Germany considers as possible a cooperate with Mongolia in implementing a project on coal liquefaction. She also said Germany's import of the Mongolian raw materials and other goods have shrunk to a certain level due to the German economic and financial difficulties, and stated that she will urge the German business entities to expand and invigorate their business and trade relations with Mongolia. In this context, the Chancellor said she will connect the Siemens Group with Mongolia.
