Ts.Jambaldorj appointed as ASEAN Permanent Representative

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At a regular cabinet meeting on Saturday, Ts.Jambaldorj was appointed the Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The ASEAN was formed on August 8, 1967 by Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Since then, the membership has expanded to include Brunei (1984), Myanmar (1997), Cambodia (1999), Laos (1997) and Vietnam (1995). Its aims include accelerating economic growth, social progress, cultural development among its members, protection of regional peace and stability, and opportunities for member countries to discuss differences peacefully.
