Turkey to act together with international community regarding Syria issue

BELGRADE (AA) - April 12, 2012 - Turkish National Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz has said that Turkey would act together with international community regarding Syria issue. Speaking to AA in Belgrade on Thursday, Yilmaz said that Turkey supported Syrian people, adding, "we only want Syrian people to live in peace and stability." Yilmaz noted that the attitude of Syrian regime towards its own people caused uneasiness not only in Turkey but also in the international community. "Thus, Syria issue has been brought to UN Security Council's agenda for several times. We clearly express that we will support Syrian people together with international community, and that Syrian people have the right to live in peace," he added. Yilmaz is currently in Belgrade to attend the defense ministers meeting of Southeast European Cooperation Process. (Reporting by Emin Mahmutovic)
