Turkey Can Play Key Role To End Syria War: Iran Envoy

Ankara, June 23, IRNA – Iranˈs Ambassador to Ankara Alireza Bigdeli said Turkey can play a key role in war in Syria to make peace in that country. Talking to the Turkish Newspaper ˈZamanˈ on Saturday, Bigdeli said crisis in Syria has turned into a regional and international problem, adding that should we have not a correct analysis of the crisis, we wonˈt be able to find a good solution for it. ˈImprovement in Iran-Turkey bilateral relations can contribute to reducing difficulties in Syria,ˈ said Bigdeli. ˈWe believe that the fate of Syrian people should be determined by themselves. Syrian crisis does not have a military solution. The problem should be solved through dialogue. We are against any military intervention in Syria but certain powers talk instead of Syrian people and call for Assadˈs fall,ˈ said the envoy. ˈIranˈs support for the Syria government is legal, but supporting the terrorists is illegal. Syria people should decide on Assadˈs future in the elections and we accept any decision made by people of Syria,ˈ said Bigdeli. On Geneva 2 Conference which is going to be held in near future, Bigdeli said Iran supports political efforts and mutual dialogue to end the war in Syria and Iranˈs presence in Geneva is an advantage./end
