Turkey to combat terrorism intensively

Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 5 By Rufiz Hafizoglu – Trend: Turkey will combat terrorism in the country intensively, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said, TRT Haber TV channel reported Feb. 5. He said that the safety of the citizens, regardless of their nationality is the most important thing for the government. Davutoglu said that anyone who poses a threat to stability and order in the country will be severely punished. "Let no one think that it will be possible to return Turkey in the state of chaos and terror of the 1980-1990s of the last century," he said. Over 200 Turkish servicemen were killed in clashes with the PKK in 2015. The PKK has in recent months become active in the south-east of Turkey, and its attacks on military units and police stations have increased. The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 25 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.
