Turkey to hold snap election Nov.1

Baku, Azerbaijan, Aug. 25 Trend: Early parliamentary election in Turkey will be held Nov.1, the head of the Supreme Electoral Council of Turkey Sadi Guven said Aug.25, the Turkish news TV channel TRT Haber reported. “In accordance with the Constitution, early parliamentary election will be held in Turkey,” Guven told reporters in Ankara. “The date of early parliamentary election is November 1, 2015.” Earlier today, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan instructed Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu to form the interim government within five days, which will operate until the early parliamentary election. The opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) and the Justice and Development Party (AKP) failed to agree on the formation of a coalition government. Then Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that early parliamentary election will be held in Turkey. Turkey held parliamentary election June 7, which involved 20 political parties. Over 53 million people cast their votes in the election. During the parliamentary election, Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party garnered 40.9 percent of the vote, while the Republican People's Party (CHP) gained 25 percent; aside from that the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) got 16.3 percent, and the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) gained 13.1 percent of the vote.
