Turkey ready to conduct talks on nuclear facilities when Japanese government is ready, says Deputy PM Babacan

TOKYO (A.A) - December 6, 2011 - Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan said Tuesday that Turkey was ready to conduct talks on nuclear facilities when the Japanese government was ready. Addressing a group of Japanese journalists at the National Press Club in Tokyo, Babacan said that Turkey and Japan needed more cooperation in the commercial field. The fields of energy, construction, finance, food and retail sectors present great opportunities for Turkish and Japanese companies, Babacan emphasized. Answering a question on nuclear power plants planned to be constructed in Turkey, Ali Babacan said that Turkey, with a fast growing economy, needed more energy every day. We are aware of the evaluation process that the Japanese government is going through on nuclear power plants following the earthquake of March 11. We will conduct talks on nuclear facilities when the Japanese government is ready to do so, Babacan added.
