Turkey will lose nothing by not opening any chapter to negotiations during Greek Cypriot term presidency

ANKARA (A.A) - November 17, 2011 - Turkish Minister for European Union (EU) Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said Wednesday that Turkey would lose nothing by not opening any chapter to negotiations during the term presidency of the Greek Cypriot administration in the second part of 2012. Speaking to Turkish deputies during discussions on the 2012 budget of his ministry, Bagis stressed that Turkey's relations with the European Commission and the European Parliament would continue but Turkey would not establish any relations with the Greek Cypriots just because they have become the term president. We postponed relations with the Partnership Council even during the French term presidency. We may postpone relations once again, Bagis also said.
