Turkey's Cavusoglu: Azerbaijan gave a strong support to Turkey soon after coup attempt

"Brotherly Azerbaijan gave us a strong support as we expected, soon after the coup attempt in Turkey. Azerbaijani brothers once again demonstrated they stood by Turkey not only by phone calls, but by the steps they have taken. And that is what we call brotherhood. We are required to be like this if we are one nation," said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in his interview with Haberturk TV channel. Pointing to the recent intensified negotiations towards the liberation of the occupied Azerbaijani territories, Cavusoglu hailed Russia's and Minsk Group co-chairs' increased efforts towards the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. "As we know a meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan was recently held on the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which sounded some proposals. We always stand by Azerbaijan on all these issues," he said. "During my last visit to Azerbaijan we also discussed our support for all proposals the brotherly country will take on the settlement of the issue and our joint steps on a number of other issues," Cavusoglu added.
