Turkish Cypriot president's meeting with Greek Cypriot leader ends

LEFKOSA (A.A) - December 1, 2011 - Turkish Cypriot President Dervis Eroglu's meeting with the Greek Cypriot administration's leader Demetris Christofias at the buffer zone in Lefkosa has ended on Thursday. Speaking to reporters at the Turkish Cypriot Presidency following the meeting, President Eroglu said that they discussed the issues of "Management and Share of Power" as well as "Foreign Relations". The two Cypriot leaders will meet again on Monday, December 5. Meanwhile, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, or TRNC, is set to hold a population census on Sunday, the country's first since 2006. Referring to the population census, President Eroglu said that the census was crucial for the TRNC. "This population census is highly important for the TRNC. The issue of population in Cyprus talks is crucial. I expect everyone to attach importance to the population census on Sunday," Eroglu said. Seven experts from the United Nations would observe the population census on Sunday and there will not be any reason for suspicions in the population count, Eroglu added.
