Turkish Cypriot president's special envoy holds talks in New York

UNITED NATIONS (A.A) - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Dervis Eroglu's Special Envoy Kudret Ozersay held talks in New York, the United States.
Ozersay had meetings with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Lynn Pascoe, UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy in Cyprus Lisa Buttenheim and officials at the UN.
Ozersay informed officials about Turkish Cypriot side's stance and works regarding tripartite meeting to be held by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Eroglu and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias in Geneva on July 7.
Meanwhile, special envoy Ozersay also had a meeting with representatives from China and they discussed news reports which said China and Greek Cypriot administration would cooperate in the area of defense. Ozersay said TRNC attached a great attention to sensitivities of China but a similar attention was not showed to the ones of TRNC.
Diplomatic officials said that the Greek Cypriot administration made similar agreements with France and some Balkan countries, stating that such steps showed that the Greek Cypriot administration was not sincere regarding a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus issue.
