Turkish deputy premier says Turkey shares intelligence on terrorist organizations with relevant countries

ANKARA (A.A) - 03.05.2011 - Turkish deputy prime minister said on Tuesday that Turkey shared intelligence regarding terrorist organizations with relevant countries.
Replying to questions of reporters on death of Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Cemil Cicek said that however Turkey could not get a similar cooperation from other countries in its fight against terrorist organization PKK or other terrorist organizations.
Turkey suffered much from terrorism and many people lost their lives in terrorist attacks, he said.
"There is no sound and resolute international cooperation in combating terrorism. Turkey has conducted its fight against terrorist organization on its own. We feel sad over it," he said.
Cicek said that Al-Qaeda was a terrorist organization and Turkey did its utmost on the issue.
Recalling that the United States designated some leaders of terrorist organization PKK as Specially Designated Narcotics Traffickers, Cicek said that some of them were in the north of Iraq and the others were in Europe. "No concrete development have been reached on the matter in our talks with European officials," he said.
Replying to a question on possible attacks by Al-Qaeda, Cicek said that precautions had been reviewed. "New terrorists may appear in this atmosphere. We are assessing these matters and taking precautions," he said.
