Turkish deputy premier visits Turkish and Japanese school in Sendai

SENDAI (A.A) - December 7, 2011 - Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan on Wednesday visited a Turkish and Japanese school in Sendai, which was hit hard by last March's earthquake and tsunami, as part of his visit to Japan. Babacan received a warm welcome by the Japanese students of the Matsugahama elementary school in the town of Shichighama as well as a Turkish Abroad International School.               "It is a duty for us to help Japan which has always rushed a helping hand to Turkey whenever we need one," Babacan said, adding that Turkey had received great support from the Japanese government and people after a devastating earthquake in the eastern province of Van.
