Turkish FM says there is no room for ambiguity, tension over Iran's program

ANKARA (A.A) - November 12, 2011 - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said both the allegations by the West and Iran's answers to those allegations must be clear. "Allegations by the International Atomic Energy Agency and Iran's answers to those allegations should be crystal clear. We cannot afford ambiguities and unnecessary tensions on this issue," Davutoglu told a press conference before his departure for Serbia on a formal visit. Davutoglu said Turkey could not accept even "the slightest chance of any military intervention" in the region, adding "not only this or that country, all the region must be free of nuclear weapons." "It is unacceptable that countries which are suspected of possessing nuclear weapons on their own create new tensions in our region," Davutoglu said.   Davutoglu said talks between Iran and the Western countries should resume at once over Tehran's nuclear ambitions, adding Turkey supported the contents of a letter sent by EU's High Representative Catherine Ashton to Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili.
