Turkish fm says Turkey could not be with oppressors

COLOGNE (A.A) - December 5, 2011 - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said Turkey could not be on the side of oppressors. During his visit to Cologne, Germany, Davutoglu said regarding current situation with Syria that Turkey had a policy of zero problems with its neighbors, but the country could not be on the side of oppressors.  Turkey had earlier extended a great support to Syria, he said. Davutoglu said later Syrian administration started to fight against its people, stating that Turkish officials held talks with with Syrian administration to tell them that Syria must end bloodshed against its own people. But they did not listen, he said. Turkey stood by Syrian people and was against oppressors, he added. Regarding missile defense system stationed in Kurecik town of eastern province of Malatya, Davutoglu said that it was only an early warning radar aiming at defense of the country.
