Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs comments on Danish court's decision on Roj TV

ANKARA (A.A) - January 10, 2012 - Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Tuesday said that they expected Denmark's Radio and Television High Board to sequester Roj TV's license after a Danish court fined the TV station a penalty of 5.2 million Danish krones today for having ties to terrorist organization PKK, for making PKK's propaganda in various programs and for receiving financial assistance from PKK. In a statement released Tuesday, the MFA said that the Danish court's decision was highly important in that the decision showed a media organization's ties with terrorist organization PKK in a EU member country. It is certain that today's decision in Copenhagen will be an example in the global fight against terror, the MFA said. As part of the court decision made today, we expect all EU member countries not to permit any media organ to extend support to the activities of terrorist organization PKK, the MFA also said.
