TURKISH PARLIAMENT SPEAKER ARRIVES IN ULAANBAATAR

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Upon initiation of his Mongolian counterpart Z.Enkhbold, the Speaker of the Parliament of Turkey Mr Cemil Cicek arrived in Ulaanbaatar on Monday evening. Accompanied by his spouse Ms Gulten Cicek and officials, the Turkish Speaker was welcomed at the Chinggis Khaan international airport by the Chair of the Standing committee on state structure and Mongolia-Turkey parliamentary group head A.Bakei MP, together with the Ambassador of Mongolia to Turkey B.Batkhishig and Secretary-General of parliament office B.Boldbaatar. During his official visit, Mr Cicek will be received by the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj, will meet with the Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag and other dignitaries. He will also attend opening ceremonies of ‘cyber library’ and ‘publishing house renovation’ projects, both implemented under a funding of the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency. Mr Cicek will also visit the Erdenezuu Monastery in Ovorkhangai province and an ancient Turkic findings museum in the Orkhon valley nearby. Cemil Cicek (born 1946) is a Turkish politician who is the current Speaker of the Parliament of Turkey since 4 July 2011. He served as the Deputy PM and Justice and Development Party Member of Parliament from Ankara. He was formerly Minister of Justice and government spokesman. He graduated from the Law Faculty of Istanbul University. In 1983, he joined the centre-right Motherland Party (ANAP). He became an ANAP MP for Yozgat, and in the late 1980s Minister of State responsible for "the family".
