Turkish parliament speaker hopes Balkan countries will establish parliamentary assembly

ANKARA (A.A) - December 12, 2011 - Turkey's parliament speaker expressed hope on Monday that Balkan countries would establish a parliamentary assembly. Cemil Cicek said Turkey was positive toward establishment of Parliamentary Assembly of Balkan Countries in coming days. "We are doing everything we can, and we will contribute to the initiative," Cicek said as he received ministers and lawmakers from Balkan countries. Cicek said the Balkans should be the region of real peace and stability, and this was for everybody's best interests because any problem to occur in the Balkans was not only limited with that region but also brought some more problems.  "Turkey pursues peace and stability policy in the Balkans irrespective of whoever leads the governments," Cicek also said.
