Turkish pm: French bill is completely null and void for Turkey

ANKARA (A.A) - January 24, 2012 - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the bill (criminalizing the denial of Armenian allegations) which was adopted at French Parliament and Senate is completely null and void for Turkey The bill is a discrimination, racism and a slaughter of freedom of thought, said Erdogan who spoke at his Justice & Development (AK) Party group meeting in Ankara on Tuesday. Noting that this was a matter of discrimination and racism, Erdogan said that Turkey would implement its sanctions on France step by step and without a retreat. We will share our action plan with public according to the course of events, said Erdogan. French Senate on Monday adopted a bill that criminalizes the denial of Armenian allegations pertaining to the incidents of 1915. The bill was adopted by a vote of 127 against 86. With the adoption of the Armenian bill at the French Senate, the denial of Armenian allegations regarding the incidents of 1915 would be penalized with a prison term of one year and a monetary fine of 45,000 euros in France.
