Turkish premier says Syrian people will have democracy sooner or later

ANKARA (A.A) - November 1, 2011 - Turkish premier said on Tuesday that Syrian people would have democracy, basic rights and freedoms sooner or later. Prime Minister and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered a speech in his party's parliamentary group meeting in Ankara. "We had friendship with Syria that began nine years ago, but Syrian government did not appreciate it and did not listen to our recommendations," he said. Erdogan said that there was an ongoing cruelty in Syria and hundreds of people were killed there. Premier Erdogan said that it was not possible for Turkey to remain silent to what had happened there and Turkey would do what was required.
