Turkish Red Crescent to build schools in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU (A.A) - November 24, 2011 - Turkish Red Crescent aid society will open schools in Somali capital Mogadishu to train health personnel. Red Crescent, which has been in Somalia within the scope of humanitarian assistance for the last 3.5 months, will build a nurse school and a health technician vocational school. Red Crescent's Somalia delegation head Safak Lostar told AA on Thursday that there was a shortage of trained personnel in Somalia due to civil war which has been continuing for years, adding that the biggest shortage was seen in health area. Noting that construction of two buildings would begin in a month, Lostar said that the project would be completed in ten months, and nearly 1,500 students would be trained in the schools.
