UAE at forefront of efforts to promote inter-religious interaction and communication: Nahyan bin Mubarak

ABU DHABI, 2nd May, 2016 (WAM) -- The UAE will always remain at the forefront of the efforts aimed at achieving interaction and communication among all religions and promoting values of co-operation, love and peace across the Arab World and the world at large, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, has affirmed during an Easter service at St Antony Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Abu Dhabi last night. In an address to the congregation, Sheikh Nahyan expressed his hope the celebration would always be a spiritual gathering for reflecting noble human feelings and for reiterating commitment to values of love, fraternity and coexistence in peace and security so as to ensure a promising and prosperous future. The church service, he said, underscored the longstanding, deep-rooted ties between the peoples of the UAE and Egypt and the two countries' keenness to further solidifying these bonds in the best interest of the two countries and the Arab World at large. ''We in the UAE always pray to the Almighty Allah to protect Egypt. We are proud that our leaderships and peoples are committed to further consolidate bonds of fraternity, love and co-operation. The UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is firmly keen to boost ties with Egypt,'' Sheikh Nahyan said. Reverend Anthony Michael paid profound thanks and gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of Emirates, and the government and people of the UAE, for the religious tolerance the Egyptian Coptic and other Christians enjoy and the freedom to perform their religious practices freely and peacefully.
