UAE Parliamentary Division participates at IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians

ABU DHABI, 27th May, 2015 (WAM) -- The UAE Parliamentary Division of the Federal National Council, FNC, will participate at the IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, organised by the International Parliamentary Union, which will take place on May 27th and 28th in the Japanese capital, Tokyo. Participants in the conference, which is being held under the theme, "Democracy, Peace and Prosperity", will address a number of topics, including obstacles facing youths in a world of economic and social crises, explore whether it is possible for young people to help in the eradication of violence and conflict through participating in the democratic process, and the role that young parliamentarians play in advancing the peace process in the future. In the opening session, the President of the House of Representatives and the National Legislative Council in Japan, and Saber Chowdhury, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, are both expected to speak. The parliamentary delegation will be headed by Faisal Al Tunaiji, Member of the Federal National Council, and Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s Youth Parliamentarian Forum, whose members include Sultan Saif Samahy and Dr. Sheikha Al Owais. – Emirates News Agency, WAM –
