UB MAYOR MEETS N.KOREAN COUNTERPART

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city E.Bat-Uul received Saturday a delegation led by Mr Cha Hui Rim, the Chairman of Pyongyang city’s People's Committee. The is taking part in the "Northeast Asian Mayors" forum that kicked off Monday in Ulaanbaatar. The action has gathered 120 delegates, under a "Sustainable and inclusive cities" theme. At the meeting Mr Bat-Uul thanked the N.Koreans for participating in the forum and said the ties, established between the two capital cities in 2003, need more push, "and this why I am confident that the Northeast Asian Mayors’ Forum will make them clearer and closer". Pyongyang has many things the UB city can learn, "and we want to collaborate in economy, urban development, gardening and agriculture," Mr Bat-Uul underlined. Mongolia intends to boost the cooperation with many foreign cities and organization in accordance with the Programme on Developing the UB until 2030, adopted by parliament in 2013, Mr Bat-Uul said. In response, Mr Cha said he and accompanying him delegates are happy to attend the forum and emphasized that the Mongolia-N.Korea cooperation has been intensifying recent years. He also said Pyongyang is ready to expand ties with Ulaanbaatar and work together in economy, agriculture and culture spheres.
