ULAANBAATAR TO COOPERATE WITH RUSSIAN IRKUTSK IN WINTER TOURISM

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mayors of Ulaanbaatar and of Russian Irkutsk discussed ways of cooperating in a development of winter tourism on Wednesday. The Irkutsk delegation, together with administrations of Russian Moscow, Yakutsk, Vladivostok cities, recently participated in the forum of North East Asian Mayors at invitation of Mr S.Bat-Uul, the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar. Mr A.Almukhamedov, the Deputy Mayor of Irkutsk, thanked Mr Bat-Uul for receiving them and for letting take part in the forum. In response, the UB Mayor mentioned about the forum's purposes as "strengthening a collaboration of the countries and cities in the region and determining mutual visions". He strongly believes that the UB and Irkutsk can cooperate in certain projects in the future, for example, in developing a winter tourism, about which said Mr Almukhamedov. Other two directions may be a reconstruction of old buildings, in which Irkutsk has accumulated experience, and a programme on air pollution, he said. The sides agreed to work out plans and programmes on the above initiatives.
