Ulaanbaatar Declaration becomes official document of UN

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ulaanbaatar Declaration has been turned into the official document of the 67th session of the United Nation General Assembly and the 23rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The UB Declaration was released by the 7th Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies (CoD) which ran April 27-29 in Ulaanbaatar. It has been delivered to all member nations. It reflects matters on strengthening the CoD's role in the UN, forwarding democratic goals within the UNGA, UNHRC and other related organizations, and on cooperating with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Foundation for Democracy and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). In a scope of the CoD, Mongolia also adopted by the UNGA a resolution on the Education for Democracy which focuses on fortifying the democratic society and institutions, on ensuring human rights and on achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). It helped the CoD to gain a status of observer at the UNGA.
