UN SG: If Downer's report is positive, international conference can be held in April or May

UNITED NATIONS (A.A) - January 25, 2012 - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said Wednesday that he would get an assessment regarding the Cyprus negotiation process from his special adviser for Cyprus Alexander Downer at the end of March, stating that if the report was positive, he could organize an international conference at the end of April or at the beginning of May. President Dervis Eroglu of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias and United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon held a trilateral meeting on Cyprus in Greentree, New York on Monday and Tuesday. At the end of trilateral meeting, Ban held a press conference at UN HQ. Ban said that he asked the two parties to complete data sharing on property issue within next two weeks, stating that he would submit a report on the Cyprus talks to the Security Council at the end of February.
