UNHCR Official: Iran is the best country in the world for refugees

Gorgan, Dec 12, IRNA – Head of the UNHCR office in Mashad Toshitsuki Kawauchi said on Monday that considering services Iran offers to refugees, it is the safest and the best country in the world for refugees. He made the remarks during a visit to a center for creating job opportunity for women refugees in Gorgan. Given the attacks and existing crises in the region, Iran is protecting the refugees very well. He said that UNHCR is coordinating all its works and programs with foreign nationals affairs department of Iran Interior Ministry - BAFIA and every thing is going well with their services. Toshitsuki said that Iranian government offered plenty of services for a long period of time for around one million refugees and it is a great and valuable job. On creating job opportunity workshop, the UN official said that empowering the women to do something is an important issue, both for herself and her family to be able to earn income. The center opened three weeks ago and 30 women have undergone training for work with industrial sewing machine. 1378/IRNA
