US-backed Aid To Syria Opponents Hinders Annan Plan : Official

New York, April 11, IRNA – Syria’s ambassador to the United Nations Bashar Ja’afari said that that arming the Syrian government’s opponents will create obstacle on implementation of the peace plan put forward by the UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan for that country. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, he strongly criticized the measures taken by Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar aiming to join the US actions against the Syrian nation and government. He said these countries hinder establishment of peace in Syria by arming the opponent groups. He said implementation of Annan’s peace plan is impossible while these armed groups receive support./end
