US divided on Iran's deal: Spokesman

Tehran, Feb 26, IRNA –Different stances by the US officials with regard to the nuclear deal, without any clear consensus, are being witnessed, Spokesman of Iran's Foreign Ministry said on Monday. I believe that the governing body in the US has not come up with a conclusion yet,' Bahram Qasemi said in a press conference. 'Different voices are heard from the US,' he said. I don't want to judge on the future behavior of the US, but I believe that they have reached no consensus on withdrawing from the nuclear deal. The nuclear agreement signed between Iran and major world powers in 2015 is known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Under the deal, Iran agreed to curb its nuclear program in exchange for economic sanctions relief. Commenting on the new scenario the US and the Zionist regime of Israel are drawing to pressure Iran's missile program, the spokesman said that the American officials' behavior in the US is rather a show-off in line with their Iranophobia policies. 'Iran will use all its diplomatic power for enlightment, but what we understand from the claims is a distrust in the US and President Trump,' he said. In recent weeks, the US officials have intensified their rhetoric against Iran's missile technology. The US president has claimed that the nuclear deal Washington, plus other world major powers, signed with Iran in 2015 should have included the missile issue. The US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley has also claimed that Tehran has violated the UN Security Council's resolutions by sending missiles to Yemeni Ansarollah forces.
