US Drone Capture Shows Iran's Might In Defense Technology : Lawmaker

Islamabad, Dec 8, IRNA -- Pakistani lawmaker said here Friday capturing another US drone by Iran proves Islamic Republic’s high defense capability in electronic war. Talking to IRNA Senator Zafar Ali Shah of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz said that the capture of the 2nd drone is a big blow against the US regional hegemony. He said that in short span of time Iran has captured two spy drones which shows that Iran would not allow any country to do spying operations against its security. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corpse (IRGC) captured a US drone in the Persian Gulf zone on December 4. The drone which was a ScanEagle had been spotted few days ago while doing spying operations to collect information in the general zone of the Persian Gulf. The ScanEagle drone can fly pre-programed or operator-run missions guided by navigation satellites and its on-board flight control system. Senator Zafar Ali Shah said that it is a tremendous achievement of Iran in defense technology. He said that the incident also proved that Iran is a strong country and has the capacity to counter any spying activity. The politician said that beyond doubt that US intelligence technology against Iran has failed. “The US has to realize that it is not the superpower it used to be,” the political leader noted. The Senator was of the view that the power belongs to those countries which do not yield to any kind of pressure and Iran is certainly one of them. He said that Iran has always thought about the peace of the world. The politician went on to say that despite the tough imposed sanctions Iran is progressing in all fields, especially in science and technology. He said that the Iranian government is taking decisions which are in the interest of their people irrespective of the western propaganda. He urged the need for promoting unity in the Muslim world to fight against the western conspiracies. He asked some Muslim leaders not to play the puppet roles in the hands of western powers. Zafar Ali Shah said that the differences in the Islamic world are unfortunately providing an opportunity for the western states to divide the Ummah. The Parliamentarian strongly believed that countries of Middle East countries should follow the example of Iran in resisting the western pressure. “Iran is an emerging power and a role model for the entire Muslim world,” he pointed out./end
