US Ex-diplomat: Sherman Has Acknowledged Iranian Enrichment Rights

New York, Feb 24, IRNA -- Ambassador Robert E. Hunter, US Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, said on Saturday that Wendy Ruth Sherman, the US Under-Secretary of State for Political Affairs, has acknowledged Iranian enrichment rights stipulated in the interim agreement signed in Geneva on November 24 sending a clear message to the international players. Talking to IRNA, Hunter said that Sherman made it clear for all that nuclear talks with Iran will move in the right direction and there is no place surprise for acknowledging the enrichment program in Iran. He further commented on statement of Sherman and said the assertions sent a message that the aim of talks with Iran was not to prevent its domestic enrichment program, rather stop manufacturing a bomb. He said Shermanˈs statement was aiming the Americans, the Europeans, Israel and the Saudis. “Sherman drew the framework for a permanent and comprehensive agreement, telling Israelis that a brake was set up for manufacturing nuclear bombs in return for an agreement with Iran and nothing more.” He asserted that the US and Israel do not want any enrichment in Iran, however, it will not be a realistic expectation./end
