US Has Realized It Cannot Isolate Iran: Serbian Professor

Belgrade, Feb 3, IRNA – The United States has finally come to the conclusion that it could not isolate a country like Iran with thousands of years of history, said the head of Iran-Serbia Friendship Association, Professor Rade Bojovic on Sunday. Speaking to IRNA, the Serbian professor said Western countries have expressed satisfaction with reduction of sanctions on Iran which indicates the countryˈs economic and political significance in the world. He hailed efforts made by the Iranian government under President Hassan Rouhani to address Western concerns over Tehranˈs nuclear program, saying with its peace-seeking policies which helps establish stability in the region and the entire world, Iran has never been after production of weapons of mass destruction and will never be in the future. Imposition of sanctions on Iran failed to stop scientific and technical progress of the country, and only inflicted hardship and losses on the the Iranian people, Bojovic said. Underlining Iranˈs influence, Bojovic called on world powers to make use of Iranˈs potential to help resolve regional issues, including the crises in Syria and Afghanistan. The head of Iran-Serbia Friendship Association said the gradual easing of Western sanctions on Iran prepares the ground for world countries to develop ties with Tehran. He urged Tehran and Belgrade to seize the current opportunity to further promote bilateral relations in all areas, economy in particular./end
