U.S. has requested cooperation with Iran over Iraq: Iranian official

TEHRAN,July 10(MNA) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Washington has sent many massages to Iran over the past three weeks, requesting that Tehran cooperate with the U.S. on the Iraqi crisis. “We have replied that we do not see any need for cooperation with Washington, because we believe that the Iraqi people should make the decision,” Amir-Abdollahian said in an interview with the Arman newspaper published on Tuesday. He ruled out rumors that Iran has sent military forces to Iraq, saying Tehran simply provides consultations and political strategies through its embassy in Baghdad. He added that the Islamic Republic believes that Iraq is able to whether the current crisis by support of its own people and military forces.
