US-Israel Rifts Widened By Iran’s Approach

Tehran, Oct 8, IRNA - The government’s approach in the international arena has deepened US-Israel rifts over Iran. The US-Israel disagreements indicate Washington’s realistic look at Iran’s nuclear energy program, underscored the English-langauge paper 'Iran Daily' on Wednesday. The crux of the US-Israeli disagreement is that Netanyahu wants Tehran fully stripped of its nuclear capability, while Obama says he is open to Iran continuing to enrich uranium on a limited basis for civilian purposes. The difference, contrary to what some Iranian politicians and political analysts believe, is not a show and stems from a change in Iran’s approach toward resolving the nuclear issue, wrote the daily. Iran has proved that it’s not after nukes and has no problem with monitoring and inspection of its nuclear facilities based on international law, highlighted the paper, adding that this policy, adopted by the government of President Hassan Rouhani, is in line with national interests but at odds with Israeli demands. Israel has spared no efforts to prevent an interim deal between Iran and the P5+1 and now seeks to sabotage nuclear talks to block a final and comprehensive agreement. Iran took positive steps in the past year to settle the decade-long nuclear dispute and is determined to resolve it before a late November deadline, the paper concluded./end
