US No Longer Role Model For Germans: Survey

Berlin, Mar 8, IRNA - The United States is no longer a role model for nearly 90 percent of Germans, according to an opinion poll released Wednesday by the Hamburg-based weekly news magazine stern. Some 88 percent of those questioned stressed the US was not a role model for them, while only nine percent said it still was. Meanwhile, some 66 percent of the respondents said the US was no longer a country of unlimited possibilities, compared to merely 26 percent who said it still was. Only 32 percent of Germans wish to live in the US. That notwithstanding, some 71 percent of Germans view Americans as sympathetic, compared to 14 percent who think they are not. Around 1000 people were questioned for the survey./end
