US Plans To Attack Syria Collapsed Totally: Analyst

Islamabad, Sept 18, IRNA - A senior Pakistani analyst has said that US plan to attack Syria on the pretext of use of chemical weapons has been collapsed totally. Talking to IRNA A. Z Hilali, Chairman Department of Political Science, University of Peshawar said that world community did not support US aggressive plans against the Arab state. The analyst said that Russia, China and Iran have played commendable role and forced US to step down from its stance. “After the end of cold war this is the first time that Russia and China have compelled the US to retreat from its position,” he said. The professor noted that world community has also remained neutral on the matter and did not back American strike on Syria. The educationist was of the opinion that the anti-US sentiment is on the rise in the Muslim world. “US must quit aggressive approach towards world issues,” he said. The analyst said that international community wants to restore peace to Syria through diplomatic channel as war is not the solution to any issue. Hilali said that US had attacked Iraq and Afghanistan but this time it failed to carry out unilateral strike on Syria. “It is a shameful defeat for the US and Zionist regime,” said the intellectual, adding that Washington is facing extreme criticism from the world on the issue. The intellectual stressed that Iran has always supported peace in Syria, adding that the Islamic Republic has played a positive role in stopping US aggression against Syria. He said Iran wants a stable government in Syria which the US cannot digest. He added that Iran wants a solution to the Syrian crisis which is acceptable to the people of Syria.
