US To Play Out Ukraine Scenario In Iraq: Official

Moscow, July 2, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister in Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said US is to play out Ukraine scenario in Iraq and is using Daesh (ISIL) Takfiri terrorists group for this purpose. Amir-Abdollahian told IRNA on Tuesday afternoon that Daesh is a product of US policies in the Middle East region. He added the terrorist group was formed upon the US policy support for terrorism in Syria and was put in the service of colonial and ominous goals of this power. Deputy FM explained that Daesh is an instrument in the hands of Washington and the US is using the dangerous terrorist group in direction of its plans and the fact that US does not confront with terrorism in Syria and Iraq shows the reality. He stressed that in a meeting with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Bogdanov, they discussed the latest situation in the Middle East and current developments in Iraq and the issue of Daesh terrorist group attack in this country. Amir-Abdollahian added that Tehran and Moscow believe they must confront effectively with radicalism and terrorism in the Middle East. He added the two countries believe that the US is behind the Iraq events and Washington is to use the terrorists and remains of the former Baˈathist regime in Iraq to achieve its goals. The Iranian senior diplomat said that certain countries want to disintegrate Iraq and use the same pattern in the future for other countries of the region, too. He continued that Russian officials believe that the US is trying to turn Iraq into another Ukraine, and this is why the terrorist group of Daesh has attacked Iraq. On talks between Iran and the USA on Iraq, Amir-Abdollahian said we warned seriously the Americans that their support for terrorism will have dangerous consequences for the region as well as the USA. He reminded that Iranˈs relations with Iraq are strategic and Iran will do everything to keep Iraq powerful and united. ˈOur view on Iraq includes Shias, Sunnis, Kurds and Christians and we believe all sides can share in the Iraq government in the framework of the Constitutional Laws.ˈ He denied presence of any Iranian military forces in Iraq, adding that in the framework of security agreements we have consultations to fight against terrorism in Iraq. Iraq has no need to any foreign armed forces including Iran or the USA, said Amir Abdillahian. He said the USA, by supporting terrorists in Syria, is getting involved in massascre of people there. Daesh was created in Syria with the help of the USA and now is doing its mission in Iraq. Amir-Abdollahian said that the US consultations behind the curtain in the UN has prevented the body to recognize Daesh as a terrorist group in the UN. Concerning possibility of disintegration and probable efforts of the Iraqi Kurdistan authority for declaring independence, Amir-Abdollahian said Iran believes heads of Iraqi Kurdistan region behave wisely and are informed about negative consequences of such an act. Amir-Abdollahin underlined Iranˈs support for Iraq territorial integrity and sovereignty .
