U.S. president visits Georgian officer at hospital

Georgia, Tbilisi, March 7 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia / U.S. President Barack Obama visited Georgian officer, Vice Col. Alexander Tugushi wounded in Afghanistan, at the Walter Reed Army Medical Centre in Bethesda in Maryland on March 2. As Georgian Defence Ministry said, President Obama had a conversation with the Georgian officer and was photographed with him by the official White House photographer. During his visit to the United States on Feb.2, President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited Alexander Tugushi at the hospital and awarded him the Vakhtang Gorgasali Order of the first degree. Georgia has lost its 15 soldiers in Afghanistan since 2009 as part of the ISAF operations, while dozens of soldiers were wounded.
