US Responsible For Instability In Pakistan, Region

Islamabad, Jan 23, IRNA – Senior leaders of Difa-e-Pakistan Council on Sunday demanded Pakistan government to review its relations with the United States and said that US was responsible for instability in Pakistan and the region. Thousands of people attended the gathering organized by Difa-e-Pakistan Council in the city of Rawalpindi adjacent to Islamabad and chanted slogans against anti-Pakistan policies of the US. They said that the US has no right to interfere with the affairs of Pakistan, adding that the US and Israel want to destabilize Pakistan by creating security problems. Major leaders of Difa-e-Pakistan Council, talking to IRNA, strongly condemned American policies in the region and Pakistan. Maulana Samiul Haque of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-S) said that resumption of drone attacks in Pakistan shows that the government of Pakistan is interested in having strong relations with the US. He warned against consequences of drone attacks adding that the US has no justification of killing innocent people of Pakistan. He added the government has failed to protect the rights of people. Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi stressed the need for unity of Muslim Ummah to expel the US from Pakistan and the region. President Pakistan Muslim League–Z Muhammad Ijaz-ul-Haq, highlighting importance of the gathering, said that its objective is to create awareness among Pakistani people about the anti-Pakistan attitude of US. General (Retd) Mirza Aslam Beg said that anti-American sentiment is all time high in Pakistan and the people with unity can counter anti-Pakistan policies of the US. Religious leaders, senior politicians and retired military officials, addressing the rally and strongly, condemned resumption of drone strikes in Pakistan and demanded the government to take immediate steps to stop these attacks. On the occasion Pakistani security agencies have taken special measures to avoid any untoward situation. Thousands of people from different parts of Pakistan participated in the rally./end
