U.S. Should Make Deliberate Strategic Option: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- Assertions that the DPRK's access to nuclear weapons and the increase of their quality are a hard reality and the next U.S. administration should prudently shape its Korean policy in recognition of the reality are being heard from U.S. media and experts on the Korean affairs. Rodong Sinmun Friday says in a commentary that such assertions are results made in the light of the DPRK's strategic position and the balance of power between the DPRK and the U.S. which underwent a fundamental change. The commentary stresses that the DPRK has a thing to clearly tell the U.S. once again, adding: The DPRK's nuclear deterrence is not a bargaining chip for holding political negotiations or for economic dealings but the life of the nation which can never be bartered for anything and a national treasure of reunified Korea. Any attempt to force the DPRK to abandon nuclear weapons is no more than a pipedream. The DPRK has produced various type smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear weapons and fully manufactured means of delivery of nuclear weapons which can hit any place of the world The U.S. should clearly understand this fact. As long as the U.S. nuclear threats against the DPRK continue, the latter will never abandon its nuclear deterrence. The U.S. politicians should draw a lesson from their predecessors' wrong DPRK policy. The U.S. military pressure against the DPRK will never work. As long as the U.S. nuclear threats and arbitrary practices continue, the will of all service personnel and civilians of the DPRK to bolster up its defense capabilities with the nuclear deterrence as a pivot will remain unchanged. The U.S. policymakers should bear this in mind and deliberately make a correct strategic option. Doing so is the only way for the U.S. to defuse its crisis and retrieve its disgraceful image even a bit. -0-
