US Trying To Spy Iran’s Peaceful N-Program: Pakistani Ex-Minister

Islamabad, Dec 21, IRNA -- Pakistani Parliamentarian and former minister on Tuesday said that the US has assigned its spies to get information about the peaceful nuclear program of Iran. Talking to IRNA, Senator Lt. Gen (R) Javed Ashraf Qazi of Pakistan Muslim League-Q said that arrest of US spy and downing of American drone by Iran, shocked American intelligence agencies. “Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is after Iran’s intelligence agencies,” he noted. Iranian Intelligence Ministry in a statement said that the spy had attempted to infiltrate into Iranian intelligence system to supply wrong data and spy on channels of Iranian Intelligence Ministry. The statement said that the spy had undergone the CIA complicated intelligence training for sometime and entered the region for pre-designated activities. Iranian Intelligence Ministry identified him immediately after his entry to Bagram base in Afghanistan. Javed Ashraf Qazi expressing his views said that he was not surprised to hear such incident. “US has been trying to infiltrate Iranian intelligence organizations to get some information on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program,” said former Pakistani Intelligence Chief. The spy was under surveillance of Iranian Intelligence Ministry after his entry to Iran and was arrested when he was engaged in spying activities. Lt. Gen (R) Javed Ashraf Qazi said arrest of American spy is a great achievement for Iran, ‘but Iran should remain alert against American moves’. The politician added that Iran is an independent country and has every right to safeguard its national interests. “Definitely American efforts against Iran would continue,” opined the former education minister. The lawmaker noted that US is trying to deny Iran and is also conspiring to pass on intelligence information about Iran to Israel. Lt. Gen (R) Javed Ashraf Qazi during his army career headed the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) from 1993 to 1995 and Military Intelligence (MI) from 1990 to 1991.
